What herbs can I take if I'm pregnant or nursing?

Many Herb Pharm products can be taken while you are pregnant or breastfeeding. To determine whether an extract is appropriate or to be avoided, refer to the Cautions section on the left side of our labels, listed under the Suggested Use information.

Our caution statements are based primarily on recommendations from the American Herbal Products Association’s Botanical Safety Handbook, 2nd edition.

We also share this information on our website. Every product page contains a photo of the full label for easy reference. Please be aware that pregnancy cautions are separate from those related to breastfeeding; some products may have one but not the other.

We always recommend letting your health-care practitioner know what herbs you are taking. And please remember to read and follow the Suggested Use instructions or your physician’s directions.
