Meet These Herbs from Our Farms

Expand your herbal knowledge and learn about these lesser-known herbs from our Regenerative Organic Certified® farms.

Blue Vervain

Blue Vervain

Blue Vervain is a uniquely beautiful herb that’s easy to spot. It’s native to the U.S. and attracts birds, bees and butterflies. It has flowering spikes that are densely packed with purple blooms. We harvest this perennial herb while it’s flowering and use it to make our Blue Vervain liquid herbal extract. You’ll find it in the optimal well-being category.*

Bugleweed

Bugleweed

Bugleweed is one of the many perennial flowering herbs on our farm. It’s delicate, white flowers attract bees and among herbalists it’s known to provide traditional support for the endocrine system. After harvest, we dry this herb and use it to make both Bugleweed single herb extract and our Thyroid Calming™ formula.*

Catnip

Catnip

You may recognize Catnip as an enticing favorite for felines, but humans can benefit from this aromatic herb, too. Our Catnip is hand-harvested on the farm when in full flower, then thoroughly extracted while still succulent. Take Catnip liquid herbal extract to calm your nervous system, and consider planting this herb in your garden to repel insects.*

Heartsease (Formerly Violet)

Heartsease (Formerly Violet)

Imagine stepping into a whole field filled with these dainty, colorful flowers. They’re sometimes called Johnny Jump Ups or European Wild Paxnsies, but they’re lovely by any name. Heartsease is one of the first plants we harvest each year. We hand-pick the fresh flowers and transport them down the road to our processing facility for extraction.

Wood Betony

Wood Betony

If you’re new to herbalism, there’s a good chance you haven’t heard of Wood Betony, but it’s worth adding to your lineup. It’s actually the oldest planting on our farm! We first planted Wood Betony in 1995 and moved the plot to its current location in 1998. We make our Wood Betony extract using the aerial parts of this plant, and you’ll find it as a single herb extract and in formulas like our Herbs on the Go: Daily Calming Spray™.

Biodiversity on the Farm

Our farms are bursting with life – from native bees, butterflies, birds and lizards to a wide range of beneficial botanicals. In fact, preserving biodiversity is a key element for a thriving Regenerative Organic Certified® farm.
