Our Commitment
Preserving Herbs for Humankind
We believe if we do everything in our power to take care of plants, plants will continue to take care of us.
Herbaculture Internship Program
We’re committed to the future of herbalism. Our Herbaculture Internship Program has trained hundreds of tomorrow’s herbalists, farmers, and naturopaths since 1980. Our professional farmers and herbalists provide a hands-on, immersive learning experience spanning 10 weeks at the height of spring, summer and fall at our Regenerative Organic Certified® farms in the heart of the Siskiyou Mountains in southern Oregon.

Botanical Education Garden
Inside the boundaries of our main farm is a 1.5-acre oasis called the Botanical Education Garden. Here we grow over 500 species of plants gathered from all over the world. The garden provides a “living classroom” for our interns and guests – a perfect place to look, touch and observe beloved herbs and discover new ones. It exemplifies our mission to inspire love and respect for nature, and to impart our knowledge of traditional herbalism.
Doing Business for Good
We’ve been a Certified B Corp since 2018. This independent assessment is a distinction that really matters to us. B Corp certification assesses our environmental, social and community impact. It’s a great way to uphold our purpose: Taking care of plants, so they can take care of people. It’s a commitment that extends from our Regenerative Organic Certified® farms in Oregon, to the health and well-being of our team and our rich community of herbalists and plant savers.
United Plant Savers
We’re long time members and supporters of United Plant Savers (UpS), an organization dedicated to protecting native medicinal plants of the United States and Canada, and their native habitat, while ensuring an abundant renewable supply of medicinal plants for generations to come. Over the years Herb Pharm has made significant contributions in support of United Plant Savers’ work, including its Partners in Education program and Planting the Future conferences.
Herb Pharm’s Regenerative Organic Certified® farm is a United Plant Savers Botanical Sanctuary, an honor for our co-founder and past UpS board member and president, Sara Katz. We’ve worked diligently to restore the fertility of our farms and nurture native species, improve habitats and extend riparian areas. We’ve long grown a variety of “At-Risk” species for conservation and educational purposes and are happy to share they are thriving – from Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) and Black Cohosh (Actaea racemosa) to Cascara Sagrada (Frangula purshiana) and Slippery Elm (Ulmus fulva).
Causes & Organizations We Support
There are many ways to make a difference. At Herb Pharm, we are committed to making a positive impact on our environment, our community and the planet. Each year, we sponsor or donate a percentage of our profits to a variety of national and local environmental, social and educational organizations. The list below is not exhaustive; it represents both ongoing and previous donations.
