Is your Garlic extract FODMAP friendly?

FODMAPs are fermentable short-chain carbohydrates that some people have difficulty digesting and may restrict from their diet. These carbohydrates include fructans, galactans, lactose, fructose, and polyols. Fructans are found in Garlic, Onions, Wheat, and some fruits. Galactans are commonly found in beans and Lentils. Lactose is in dairy, like milk, cheese, and butter. Fructose is found in fruit and honey, while polyols are found in some sugar alternatives and some fruits like Avocados, Apples, and Cherries.

Garlic contains fructans, which are water soluble, and we use only alcohol to make our Garlic liquid herbal extract. While alcohol may also contain FODMAPs, the amount consumed in a serving size of our extracts is very low. For this reason, we would assume our Garlic extract is FODMAP-friendly for those that are following a low FODMAP diet, but we always recommend consulting with a nutritionist, dietitian, and/or qualified healthcare practitioner for more personalized support.
