Golden Hour Tonic with Corn Silk
Inspired by the golden color of Corn Silk, this well-balanced beverage is very herbal and earthy, and good for you, too! Bonus tip from our herbalist Lina Watanabe: Size up to fill a quart-size mason jar of the tea so you can drink it throughout the day and get up to 4 servings of our 100% Regenerative Organic Certified® Corn Silk liquid herbal extract. The extra liquids throughout the day also help the urinary system get moving!*
Ingredients
Serves 1
1 Dandelion Root tea bag (roasted or unroasted)
8 oz water
Splash of milk, dairy or non-dairy
0.7 ml Herb Pharm Regenerative Organic Certified® Corn Silk liquid herbal extract†
Instructions
- Add the tea bag to a heat safe mug or glass.
- Boil water and then pour it over the tea bag.
- Let the tea steep per the time instructed on the label and then compost or dispose of the tea bag.
- Let the liquid cool in the mug to almost room temperature.
- Add a splash of the milk of your choosing, one serving of the extract, and stir.
- Sip and enjoy!
Tips:
- The flavor of the roasted Dandelion Root tea will be nuttier than an unroasted version. Use whichever you prefer!
- For a more robust flavored tea, let the tea bag steep for longer.
- If you have any loose, dried Dandelion Root, simmer 1 tsp to 1 tbsp for up to 30 minutes and strain it out before adding the rest of the ingredients.
- If you prefer to use fresh roots from your spray-free yard, use 1 or 2 chopped roots (after washing, of course!), depending on the size.
- Add 1/4 tsp or more of your sweetener of choice if desired.
- Once steeped and strained, the tea can also be chilled in the fridge if you prefer iced tea.
†One squeeze of the dropper equals 0.7 ml; provides approximately 1 serving of Herb Pharm liquid herbal extract.
