We love talking about herbs and herbalism, and we especially love answering your questions about those
topics. That's why we brought in our team of herbal experts to respond to some of the most common questions
and concerns we hear.
Our herbalists have decades of combined experience working with herbs — and the people who take them. They
answer your most pressing questions, in our regular column “Ask an
Herbalist.”
As an herbalist, why do you like working for Herb Pharm?
For Herbalist Lina Watanabe, working for Herb Pharm
means caring for both plants and people! Here’s what she had to say:
As an herbalist, one of the most important aspects of working with plants is that they are ethically sourced.
If a plant is over-harvested in the wild or not able to be cultivated and everyone takes their share, there
will be nothing left in the future to use in your herbal preparations. So it is of utmost importance that
wherever or whomever you are getting your herbs from is doing everything they can to preserve wild stands of
plants and grow what they can organically.
I work for Herb Pharm because I know the steps we take to put the plants first. I see it behind the scenes
daily, and everyone knows that it’s what we stand for. Herb Pharm puts plants over profits, and we’ve shown
this by discontinuing certain products when the plants used to make them became at-risk. Or, when an herb
becomes more popular than expected, we would rather let the product sell out than settle for substandard raw
materials or compromise our quality standards.
These are the types of actions I look for in an herbal brand. At Herb Pharm, we don’t do these things to
brag, we do them because it’s what’s right. While there are some great herbal companies out there,
unfortunately, there are some that are just looking for profits and put plants in jeopardy. Always do your
research before using your dollars!
