How to Make Pomanders
Need a quick craft idea for little ones (or yourself) on a cold day? Make a pomander, a simple holiday tradition that is centuries old. Pomanders make wonderful, affordable homemade gifts – and are a good way to use up Cloves that might be past their prime for cooking.
Supplies
Fresh Oranges or any fresh citrus fruit
Cloves
Optional: Ribbon
Instructions
- Wrap the citrus in a ribbon if you’d like.
- Stick the Cloves into the citrus peel in a pattern.
- To display your pomanders, you can hang them by the ribbon, or arrange them in a bowl.
Note: These pomanders are not intended to be ingested.
Pro Tip:
- To preserve your pomanders, place them on a shelf or table with plenty of air flow and turn them daily.
